Michael Donaldson has been a practicing attorney in all aspects of the entertainment industry for more than thirty years. His practice is transactional with an emphasis on actors, writers, directors, producers and independent film production from financing through distribution, and legitimate theatre. Mr. Donaldson represents the Ahmanson Theatre and The Mark Taper Forum.

He is past president of the International Documentary Association and general counsel to Film Independent (formerly the Independent Feature Project, West) and the Writers Guild Foundation.

Mr. Donaldson is a frequent Arbitrator for the Independent Film and Television Alliance (IFTA), organizer of the American Film Market. He is also an expert witness in litigation involving copyright and general entertainment cases, both in federal and state courts.
